Reducing Causes of Professional Segregation
Profession as such does not have any gender. There is only occupation, job, post and free choice of each individual to do what she or he the best is at.
Stereotypes are restraining. As a result, there are some professions, jobs and occupations considered as traditionally female or male, even though, it is for example widely accepted that men are often better in certain professions considered as ‘female’ and vice versa. The most important is a person itself and its job preferences, not gender.
In order to reduce causes of profession segregation, and to close the gender lap, the project „Reducing causes of Professional Segregation” is launched.
The "Reducing Causes of Professional Segregation" project is implemented within the framework of the EQUAL European Community Initiative which is managed by the Ministry of Welfare in Latvia.
